ECM Toolbox: How to delete a work item adding a “delete work item” button to the workflow.

Issue:
Need to delete a work item from a workflow queue.

Resolution:
Add delete button to the ECM Toolbox workflow to delete the work item.

Steps:
 1.  Determine which queue to add the delete button.
 In this example, a delete button will be added to the “Initial Review” queue.

       2.  In ECM Toolbox, go to Admin -> Workflow Setup



3. Click on Design Workflow


4.  Click on the “+” to the right of the“INIITIAL REVIEW” queue and select “Add Button”.


5.   Type in “Delete Work Item” for the Button Name and click on Save.


6.   Click on the “+“ to the right of the Delete Work Item button event to add a Condition and an Action.


7. 1.       Click on the Action and select “End WorkInstance” for the Action Type.

8. Exit out of the ECM Toolbox Workflow designer.  Open the work item that is under the “INITIAL REVIEW” queue. 
Click on the “Delete Work Item” button to delete the work item.



9. To remove the "Delete Work Item" button from the workflow, open the workflow in ECM Toolbox Workflow Designer.
     Select the button and click on "Delete".
